Segmentation is a easy way to divide up your knowledge base answers. A few examples would be to have specific knowledge base answers that are region specific (East Coast vs. West Coast). Some users also break out their answers by product (Product A, Product B).
To access and configure Segmentation, select the appropriate link in the left main navigation panel.
Click on the Created new Segment button and fill out the form. Provide the name of the segment and the segment type. Note if the segment is required then it will be mandatory to select when receiving any questionnaires.
To populate the segment values, select the Create new value button showed in the image below.
Notes: Segmentations can be Nested so you can add as many child values as necessary.
Once all segments and sub-segments are applied you can start assigning them in your knowledge base. In this example below, we have the US and Europe root Region values and within US there are 2 nested locations.
